I was recently honored as Outstanding Business Woman with the American Business Women’s Association. As an honoree, I had to give an acceptance speech at the annual luncheon. While I have gotten much better with one-on-ones, and with networking in general, public speaking is still very challenging for me.

She then gave us an opportunity to practice in front of each other and it did gradually become easier and more comfortable. I remembered my “anchors” as I made my way up to the podium and it did help to ground me in the moment as I began to speak.
